ooVoo

First saw this over on Scott Hanselmans site and thought we'd give it a try. It really is 'as advertised', though we had an issue getting sound to work at my Dad's house. This photo below is while we were still troubleshooting the audio. This turned out to be 'user' error.

Later in the evening, I got a 'video call' from my Brother, who works in software, but on the sales side of things. He was calling from his laptop while en route to a hotel in Philadelphia (no, he wasn't driving), using a broadband mobile air card.

The perspective of that call left me strangely uncomfortable as the laptop was on his, well, his lap.

The quality on the house-to-house call was very good, the quality on the car-to-house, not so much, mainly because of a slight lag in audio and poor lighting in the car.

Now, I just need to get a video cam for the office and I can have video calls with my family here at the house. Maybe, I can get budgeted video cams for all my co-workers so I can re-live those geek 24 momements!
